- How to make your own deodorant: A step-by-step guide

Owning your own deodorant can be an interesting and economical way to control which ingredients come into contact with your skin.
Here's a simple and natural recipe you can try:
Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup coconut oil
- 1/4 cup baking soda
- 1/4 cup corn starch or maranta powder
Powder of marantha root is a natural thickener for almost all cosmetics that contain water. It is obtained by steaming the fresh rhizomes of the plant, crushing and drying them.
- Essential oils (optional)
Steps:
- Combine baking soda and cornstarch or maranta powder in a bowl.
- Melt the coconut oil, if it is hard, by placing the jar in a bowl of warm water or warming it in the microwave for a few seconds.
- Pour the coconut oil over the dry mixture and mix well. The result should be a smooth pasty mass.
- If you want to add fragrance, add a few drops of your favourite essential oil. Lavender, tea tree and peppermint are the most common choices. Essential oils can also give antibacterial properties.
- Pour your homemade deodorant into a jar or an old, cleaned deodorant container for storage and easy application. If you use a jar, you can apply deodorant with your fingers or a small spatula.
- Store it in a cool, dry place.
Important: Remember to test it on a small area of your skin before use, especially if you have sensitive skin or use essential oils. As with all deodorants, discontinue use if you experience a rash or other reaction.
It is important to note that this is not an antiperspirant, it will not stop sweating. However, coconut oil and baking soda together kill bacteria, and cornstarch or maranta powder help absorb moisture.
It's also worth noting that this natural deodorant may not be as effective as commercial brands, as everyone's body chemistry is different.
If you find that the recipe doesn't work for you, you may need to change the proportions, try other ingredients or find a commercial natural deodorant that works for you.
