The Donetsk regional prosecutor's office has launched a pre-trial investigation into the criminal proceedings over violations of laws and customs of war (part 2 of Article 438 of the Ukrainian Criminal Code).

The Prosecutor-General's Office reports:

According to the investigation, the Russian army launched a massive attack on Sloviansk on 14 April 2023. A 2-year-old child is currently known to have been killed and 8 other civilians were wounded to varying degrees of severity. Among them is a 14-year-old girl. They have been taken to hospitals. A shell has destroyed the upper floors of a house. There may still be people under the rubble. The search and rescue operation is ongoing.

Houses, cars, a shop and a household centre have been damaged.

According to preliminary reports, the occupants used a S-300 surface-to-air missile system against civilians.
