Poland can accept more Ukrainians - Warsaw

Since the beginning of the war, more than 2.4 million Ukrainians have left Ukraine for Poland.
Polish Government Commissioner for Refugees Pavel Shefernaker said that Poland has reserves to accommodate more refugees from Ukraine on its territory. It is reported by " Polish Radio ".
In the event of a very large wave, we are ready to adapt places such as large sports and shopping halls to accommodate refugees. We are preparing for this in those places, centers where it can be done, where there is a large reserve, - he said.
At the same time, he called on other European countries to help Ukrainian refugees.
There are 6 million people in Ukraine as part of internal migration. Therefore, not only Poland should be ready to receive these people, but the whole of Europe. Therefore, we are pleased that the UK has prepared a specific package of proposals and we want to ask other countries to submit such proposals, he added.
Shefernaker also said that next week it is planned to amend a special law on assistance to citizens of Ukraine.
