The SBU has detained a recidivist who helped Russians set minefields during the occupation of Kharkiv Region.

TheSBU has detained an enemy collaborator who voluntarily cooperated with the aggressor during the temporary occupation of Kharkiv Region. This is reported by the SBU.

The attacker turned out to be a 29-year-old resident of one of the settlements of Bogodukhov district, who had previously been convicted of serious crimes. After the capture of the settlement, he helped the Russian invaders to orientate on the terrain and choose the territory for the arrangement of mine barriers, - stated in the message.

Among the mined areas were local roads and carriageways used by civilians in the area. In addition, he "surrendered" to the invaders the addresses of members of the resistance movement in the region. The Russians would then kidnap the people and take them to their hideouts.

Also, the attacker together with the occupants robbed the houses of fellow villagers, who at that time left for the Ukrainian-controlled territory. During the looting they stole cars, took out household appliances, furniture and other property of citizens.

After the liberation of the district, the henchman of the aggressor tried to "lie low" to avoid justice. However, the SBU officers found his whereabouts and detained him.

Now he is suspected under Article 111-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (aiding and abetting the aggressor state). The attacker is in custody. He faces up to 12 years in prison.
