It became known what exactly happened in Yelenovka with the prisoners from "Azov"

A month has already passed since the explosion in the colony in Yelenovka that shocked Ukraine and the world.
However, there is still no information about the visit of the UN investigators or the Red Cross to the scene. Moreover, on July 31, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced that it had allegedly invited international experts to investigate the strike. And on August 22, UN Secretary-General António Guterres announced that the organization was preparing a group of experts.
In the meantime, the Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine says that ammunition from a flamethrower probably exploded in the colony. DW wrote about it.
The source of the explosion in the colony in the occupied Yelenovka, Donetsk region, which killed dozens of Ukrainian prisoners, was probably a thermobaric munition. “Namely, a capsule with a combustible mixture of a thermobaric explosion of flamethrowers of the SHMEL, SHMEL-M, RIS types,” the office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine (OGPU) said in response to a request from DW.
The investigation came to this conclusion as a result of an examination of freely available video recordings, with specialists in the use of units and subunits of the troops of radiation, chemical, and physical protection, the identification of ammunition, and the use of engineering units and subunits.
At the same time, in criminal proceedings, a forensic comprehensive examination of weapons and traces and circumstances of their use, explosive, fire and technical examinations continues, the Office of the Prosecutor General noted.
Recall that on July 29, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that the Russian army attacked the colony in Yelenovka. Some of the Ukrainian service members were kept there, who was taken prisoner from the territory of the Azovstal plant in Mariupol. As a result of the strike, more than 50 Ukrainian soldiers were killed, and more than 70 were injured. At the same time, no single colony employee, DPR militant, or Russian military was injured.
