What you can eat at bedtime and not get fat.

A list of foods that can be eaten at night without harming the figure has been prepared by the experts of the All-Ukrainian delivery service Zakaz.ua.

These products speed up the metabolism, saturate the body with nutrients and promote fat burning.

Skimmed milk products are an excellent bedtime option. Skimmed cottage cheese, kefir, sour milk and natural yoghurt are high in protein and help soothe hunger before bedtime. Milk is also a good option as it contains the amino acid tryptophan, which promotes relaxation and eases insomnia.

Eggs are a great protein snack. Boiled or baked eggs, together with low-fat cheese, are a healthy choice. The yolk contains protein, fats and cholesterol and the protein is digestible and low in calories. Eggs also contain tryptophan and melatonin, which promote sound sleep.

Fish is a powerful supplier of quality protein and healthy fats. Low-fat fish such as hake, cod, flounder, pollack or pikeperch can be eaten in small quantities before bedtime. Fish also provides the body with iodine and phosphorus.

Avocados are a useful bedtime food as they contain mono- and polyunsaturated fatty acids, which help to break down fatty deposits. Avocados also contain many vitamins and minerals that keep the body toned.

Grapefruit is a useful citrus for weight loss. It has a low glycemic index and low calories and is rich in fibre. Grapefruit contains the flavonoid naringin, which improves metabolism and helps to break down fat.

Nuts are high in vitamins, minerals and magnesium. They are an excellent choice for quality sleep. However, you should consume them in moderation due to their high calorie content.

Mushrooms are low in calories and are a rich source of fibre. They can satisfy hunger for a short time. A small portion of boiled mushrooms or mushroom soup with vegetables is recommended.

Stewed vegetables are ideal for an overnight snack. Cooked vegetables are better digested by the body and have less acid.

These foods can be eaten at bedtime without harming your body, but it is important to keep the portions in moderation and not to overeat before bedtime.
