Vance said he has in common with Zelensky

US Vice President JD Vance has said that Russia's full-scale war against Ukraine has reached a stalemate - neither side is making decisive progress. In an interview with USA Today, he emphasised: Washington seeks to stop the senseless killings and preserve Ukraine's territorial integrity.

According to Vance, it is the issue of preserving Ukrainian borders that unites the position of the United States and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

We may differ on the details, but one thing is clear - Russia must not take over all of Ukraine. We will continue to work for peace, because the best outcome for everyone is to stop the killing and find a just settlement," the vice president said.

According to Vance, he and White House Chief of Staff Donald Trump had several good conversations with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on the topic.

Meanwhile, a Gallup poll showed that about two-thirds of Americans doubt that the conflict between Russia and Ukraine can be resolved quickly. About 67 per cent of US adults are pessimistic about an agreement to end the war, while only 31 per cent of respondents were optimistic about such a possibility. The poll also showed that 66 per cent of respondents believe that neither side is winning.
