Wave-Gotik-Treffen 2023: World of Gothic Culture in Leipzig

From 26-29 May 2023, for the 30th time, this unique festival promises to bring together thousands of goths, steampunkers, cyberheads, metalheads and other subcultures from around the world. 30th anniversary of Wave-Gotik-Treffen: Gothic World in the Heart of Leipzig

After two pandemic-related postponements, WGT returns to Leipzig as the biggest festival of the gothic scene in the world. More than 20,000 visitors from all over the world are expected to visit the city these days, transforming it into an epicentre of gothic culture. And the programme awaiting visitors promises to be particularly rich and varied.

More than 200 bands and performers will perform at 50 venues spread all over the city. The line-up includes top artists as well as less well-known, sincere and original bands from the underground. It's its long history, scale and spirit that has made WGT a unique phenomenon.

Much More Than Just Music

WGT organizers traditionally put the emphasis on the fact that the festival goes far beyond the usual music event. From readings and exhibitions to theatrical productions, film screenings, markets and parties, the unique variety of events ensure a rich and stimulating programme throughout the festival. The entire city area gets involved in the festivities, becoming an important part of WGT.

This whole picture makes WGT unique, which is why it attracts people from all over the world year after year.

The meetings take place in the former Agra agricultural fair building in the south of Leipzig.

Ticket information

Tickets for Wave-Gotik-Treffen 2023 cost 170 Euro. As in previous years no day tickets will be available. Additionally you can buy an Obsorge ticket for 30 Euro and a parking space on the Agra grounds for 15 Euro. Tickets can be purchased from the official WGT website.

All WGT guests are also free to use the city's public transport services from Friday morning to Tuesday noon.
