Yermak told how to slow down the Russian war machine

Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Andriy Yermak wrote about this in his TG channel.

The McFaul-Yermak international group, in terms of sanctions against Russia, proposes to our allies to limit the export of technologies, dual-use goods, as well as to impose bans on the implementation of existing military contracts from Russia, Yermak wrote.

A strategic and integrated approach can do great harm to Russia, the Head of the President's Office believes, and goes on to quote a New York Times article on how shortages in chips, microcircuits, semiconductors, lasers and computers are causing difficulties for Russians in the production of missiles.

According to the NYT, Russian weapons and communications systems are based on Western chips. Following Russia's large-scale invasion of Ukraine, the United States and Western allies imposed limited sanctions to cut off the supply of advanced technology to Russia.

Sanctions have recently been expanded on Russia and Belarus, adding 71 organizations to the government's list that are barred from supplying them with advanced technology.

Also, export restrictions on technology affect the oil and gas sector of the Russian economy and, together with other sanctions, can be an influential tool to curb Russian aggression.

These sanctions restrictions need to be implemented more actively, Yermak emphasized.
