We tell you how to prepare a natural refreshing tonic for facial care at home.

Natural facial skin care products are at the peak of popularity right now due to their effectiveness, minimal side effects and eco-friendliness.

One such product that can be easily prepared at home is a natural refreshing facial toner.

Facial toner is an essential part of skincare. It helps to balance the skin's pH, reduce the appearance of pores and make the skin look fresh.

Here is a step-by-step guide on how to make a natural refreshing facial toner with your own hands:

Ingredients

  • Chamomile: Chamomile is a soothing anti-inflammatory that softens and nourishes the skin.
  • Hamamelis: Hamamelis is a natural astringent that can shrink pores and remove excess oil.
  • Aloe vera: Aloe vera is known for its moisturising and healing properties.
  • Lavender essential oil: Lavender oil soothes the skin and has a relaxing scent.
  • Rose Water: Rose water helps maintain the skin's pH balance and also controls excess oil.
  • Distilled Water: Distilled water is free from impurities, making it a good base for a toner.

Recipe:

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup of distilled water
  • 1 chamomile tea bag
  • 1 tablespoon of witch hazel
  • 2 tablespoons of aloe vera gel
  • 5 drops of lavender essential oil
  • 2 tablespoons of rose water

Steps:

Make chamomile tea: Start by brewing a cup of strong chamomile tea. Let the tea infuse for about 10 minutes, then remove the tea bag and let it cool to room temperature.
Mix the ingredients: When the tea has cooled, combine it with witch hazel, aloe vera gel and rose water in a clean glass bowl. Stir well to make sure all the ingredients are blended.
Add the essential oil: Next, add the lavender essential oil. Essential oils can be potent, so using them sparingly is important. Five drops of lavender oil will be more than enough to give your toner a pleasant scent without overpowering your skin.
Storing the tonic: Once the mixture is well blended, pour it into a clean, airtight glass bottle. An old clean cosmetics bottle with a spray cap works well.

How to use:

  1. Before using your homemade facial toner, shake it well to mix all the ingredients.
  2. Spray it on your face after cleansing or any other time you need to refresh during the day.
  3. When spraying it, try to avoid the eye area.
  4. After spraying, let it air dry or gently blot it with a soft tissue.
  5. Afterwards, apply your usual moisturiser.

Creating a natural refreshing facial toner with your hands is economical and allows you to know exactly what you are applying to your skin.
